Round game

Nassau

Three bets, one round. The classic buddies wager.

Players
2 or 4 players (individual or 2-on-2 teams)
Best for
Any foursome that wants stakes without inventing new math.

The game

Nassau is the default golf bet for a reason: three separate matches — front 9, back 9, and total 18 — each worth the same stake. You can be down big through 9 and still win half the pot on the back. Presses keep it lively when someone gets buried early.

How to play

  1. 1Play three matches simultaneously: front 9, back 9, and total 18.
  2. 2Each match is worth the same unit. A "$2 Nassau" means $2 for the front, $2 for the back, $2 for the 18.
  3. 3Match-play scoring: won holes go up, lost holes go down, ties are pushes.
  4. 4Team format (2-on-2): each team's low ball on a hole is what counts.
  5. 5Individual format: everyone plays their own ball against every opponent.

Variations

  • Presses — when a team goes 2 down in a match, they can open a new bet at even for the remaining holes. Doubles the drama.
  • Automatic presses — press automatically triggers at 2 down. No begging.
  • Sudden death carryovers — if the front or back ties, roll the units into the 18.

In the app

ITL Links handles Nassau on any tee time. Add it to your round, set the unit your group agreed on, and the app tracks every match live. No arguing on 18 about whether the press was open.
