Wolf
Pick a partner. Or don't. Live with it.
Players
4 players (strictly)
Best for
Foursomes with one player who loves gambling on themselves.
The game
The wolf tees off first, then watches the other three drives. After each drive, the wolf can pick that player as a partner for the hole — but must decide before the next tee shot. Or, at any point, the wolf can go "lone wolf" and take on the other three by themselves for double.
How to play
- 1Rotation is locked to tee-off order. Player 1 is wolf on hole 1, player 2 on hole 2, and so on. Repeat through 18.
- 2The wolf tees off first, then watches each opponent drive one at a time.
- 3After any drive, the wolf can choose that player as a partner for that hole. Must decide before the next drive.
- 4If the wolf watches all three drives without picking, they're now "lone wolf" against the field for that hole.
- 5Wolf + partner (or lone wolf) team's low ball vs. the other team's low ball decides the hole.
- 6Regular win = 2 units to each winner. Lone wolf win = 4 units. Lone wolf loss = 1 unit to each opponent.
Variations
- Blind wolf — announce lone wolf before anyone drives. Higher risk, higher reward (usually 6 units).
- Reverse wolf — wolf tees off last and picks after seeing every drive. Softer version.
In the app
ITL Links locks the rotation to your tee-off order and tracks every wolf decision hole-by-hole. No arguing about who was wolf on 12.
