Skins
One hole, one skin. Ties carry. Chaos accumulates.
Players

Best for
Groups that love a big drama moment on hole 17.
The game
Every hole is worth one skin. Lowest score on the hole wins it. Tie the hole, the skin carries to the next one. By the back nine, one par can be worth six units and the guy who three-putted the first hole is somehow leading the whole thing.
How to play
- 1Each player plays their own ball for their own score.
- 2Low score on a hole wins the skin.
- 3Tied low scores mean nobody wins — the skin carries to the next hole.
- 4A tied final hole with carryovers means the pot rolls to sudden death or splits, depending on your group.
- 5No net play by default — gross scores decide the skin.
Variations
- Validation — the winner of a skin must also match or beat their score on the next hole to keep it. Prevents "lucky par carries five skins" energy.
- No carryovers — ties kill the skin. Simpler, less dramatic.
- Doubling on par-3s — some groups double skins on par-3s to reward precision.
In the app
ITL Links tracks skins live with carryovers built in. When the pot swells on a tied hole, everyone knows exactly how many units are on the line for the next tee.
