Stableford
A points game that rewards going for it.
Players
2 or more players
Best for
Mixed-skill groups. Rewards aggression, forgives blowups.
The game
Instead of counting strokes, Stableford awards points based on your score relative to par on each hole. Great score, big points. Blowup hole, small (or zero) penalty. High-handicappers stay in the game longer; low-handicappers can't coast on pars.
How to play
- 1Score each hole against par using the point table below.
- 2Highest total across the round wins.
- 3Net play: apply handicap strokes to your score before calculating points. Fair across all skill levels.
- 4Trip Stableford: same scoring, but points accumulate across every round in the trip.
